If offer of employment is made it will be contingent upon passing all of the following: Drug Test, Background Check, ITAR and U.S. Export Compliance Screening.What does the job involve?Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor directs and organizes tasks related to the maintenance of buildings and equipment at Senior SSP. Their duties include leading a maintenance team to meet targets, performing regular inspections, and maintaining equipment. Maintenance Supervisor works closely with technicians and other maintenance employee to provide installation, repair, and maintenance of facilities and machinery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
- Led a team in ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance tasks on boilers, motors, tube benders, hot presses, CNC lathes, process pumps, and all production machines.
- Utilize troubleshooting techniques to locate sources of problems and ensure efficient maintenance
- Dismantle devices, remove defective and repair parts as needed.
- Demonstrate expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, and related technologies.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations across three (3) buildings.
- Provide leadership guidance and mentorship to maintenance technicians.
- Reporting to the Maintenance Manager,
- Drive and implement process improvements.
- Maintain such records as may be prescribed by their manager and others.
- Keeps the Manager informed verbally and makes reports only upon special request by authorized individuals.
- Provides supervisory direction to all assigned personnel; selects personnel; prepares performance review; administers discipline; makes recommendations regarding compensation, promotion, demotion, and termination of employees.
- To conduct regular department inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety. To arrange for proper maintenance, operation, and orderliness of working area, machinery, equipment, facilities, and material in process within the area of their jurisdiction.
- Performing personnel functions such as recommending the selection, hiring, change in status, or termination of assigned hourly employees. Observing qualifications of employees for selection as Foreman. Assisting in administering the provisions of the labor agreement and/or corporate policies and procedures.
- Follow all Senior policies and procedures.
- Other duties with the work as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED. A bachelor’s degree is highly desirable.
- 5-7 years of Maintenance experience in a production environment with 3 years in a leadership role and familiar with managing a Union environment.
- 2 years of Knowledge of Maintenance Work Order systems (CMMS)
- Manufacturing experience in a high and low-volume facility
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and machine prints with mechanical and electrical specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and safety
- Working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, DC Drives, Pump stations,
- Familiarity with general manufacturing processes and lean methodologies (Kaizen/5S/Six Sigma)
- Strong social and organizational skills
- Exceptional listening and communication abilities
- General understanding and use of Microsoft Work Packages. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Language: Ability to read and write in English; analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Able to change communication style depending on audience.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have the ability to interpret complicated drawings, understand all types of machinery, and production techniques (including heat treatment and other types of special metal processing), and knowledge of the properties of metals.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to use shop mathematics, tables, and charts to solve production machine shop problems.
- Other Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual should know MAPICS manufacturing software; MS Excel spreadsheet software, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint software. Must have manufacturing, union environment. Must have a background in lean manufacturing. Must be able to use tact and diplomacy in dealing with shop personnel and be fully capable of exercising supervisory responsibilities. Must be a self-starter with problem-solving skills.
