Sempra LNG is Hiring a LNG JV Operations Manager Near Houston, TX

Primary Purpose
Manages LNG projects' asset management, oversight, and support activities for projects under construction or in operations. Supervises the adequate administration of services for LNG Projects that are in the development, construction, or operational phase by interfacing with support groups/stakeholders internationally and in the U.S. Monitors project performance and compliance with joint venture agreements, commercial agreements, financial agreements, and other project requirements. Supports development activities of projects as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • In charge of proactively monitoring project performance and draw on contractual and/or negotiation skills to influence actions to support favorable operational and financial results. Has full understanding of key drivers that affect financial performance, commercial and joint venture agreements, and governance frameworks. Participate in project agreement negotiations and is accountable for agreement implementation and compliance. Requires constant interfaces with business support groups from Mexico and the US to ensure an effective delivery of services to projects.
  • Manages the collection and review of key project information including project execution/operational performance and financial matters for projects. Facilitates the conveyance of relevant information between the project, business unit cross-functional teams, and management.
  • Responsible for developing and administering project/joint venture implementation plans to ensure successful transition of projects from the development phase to the execution/construction phase.
  • Manages assigned LNG projects information management process during the execution and operational phase as well as document production based on project needs.
  • Draw on experience of project oversight activities to capture best practices, streamline existing processes, and leverage lessons learned across projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related business administration field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Technical/Vocational in engineering or technical training preferred.
Experience
  • 10 years of experience in the oil/gas or power industry required.
  • 3 years of LNG industry experience preferred.
  • 7-10 years of related finance experience within financial analysis, asset management, business administration, and/or complex energy industry project agreements/business structures required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to influence action through effective negotiation and build consensus among different stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand the nuances and details of projects as well as manage and analyze complex commercial and financial contractual transactions.
  • Ability to analyze project risks and identify their potential impact on the project’s financial performance.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and respond rapidly to requests for frequent changes.
  • Ability to manage and develop others.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships to achieve business objectives.
  • Communication and presentations skills.
Other Qualifications
  • Bilingual: English-Spanish preferred.
