This position is entry level for the Seminole Tribe Transactional Accounting area. The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing accounting functions involving a vast array of accounts payable and receivable items, including but not limited to trade and property management for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The individual process and prepares payments and check requests; matches vendor invoices to purchase order information and resolves discrepancies, initiates payment to vendors. The incumbent is also responsible for performing activities related to cash application, billing. The individual processes invoices; posts payments to the general ledger and adjustments to Tribal accounts from all payers; reviews remittance advices for accuracy and identifies errors or questionable data; researches and resolves unapplied/unidentified cash receipts; and bookkeeping practices in the maintenance of fiscal and accounting records.

High School graduate or equivalent GED is required. A minimum of one (1) year of related experience in accounts payable or accounts receivable function is required. Prior knowledge related to accounts payable or accounts receivable methods and procedures is required. Must possess the ability to be both a self-starter and perform as part of a team. Must be detail oriented and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency with numbers.

Knowledge of Lawson systems is preferred. Demonstrate proficiency with computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Programs. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and be able to drive to Seminole Reservations when necessary for work overflow. Ability to travel (may require overnight travel) work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet tight work deadlines.
