The incumbent in this position assists the Environmental Protection Office (EPO) Senior Director in administrating all aspects of overseeing the Environmental Resources Department (ERD), Water Resources Department and the External Environmental Compliance Department (EECD). The EPO Assistant Director uses resources and personnel to ensure consistency, overall effectiveness and efficiency to meet the needs of the Tribal Community by ensuring high levels of quality services and customer satisfaction. The individual is responsible for helping create, track and analyze all aspects of operations including strategic planning, logistics, budget development, contracts management, grant development and management, creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures and personnel management.
Graduate Degree in Public Administration or a Natural Sciences Field required. Minimum of seven (3) years of experience in senior Management of Tribal governmental organizations required or similarly related environment in a lead management capacity is required. The incumbent must demonstrate a track record of excellent communication and public administration. Must have the ability to speak Miccosukee or Creek languages preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Driver License and have the ability to travel locally and nationally. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical, customer service and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
