Overview

The Development and Communications Manager will play an essential role in spearheading development and fundraising work with individual, corporate, and institutional funders. Reporting to the Head of School, the Communications & Development Manager will oversee donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship as well as lead development- related communication through email, social media, and direct mail. This individual will serve as a key internal and external representative of our School, working closely with the community, administration, faculty and staff. This position is hybrid with some days remote and some on-site.

Job Responsibilities

As the Development and Communications Manager you will:

• Work closely with the Head of School and Board of Directors to develop and implement an annual fundraising plan and strategy to raise general operating funds and support new projects, expansions, and opportunities.
• Develop and implement annual fundraising campaigns and appeals.
• Lead development-focused communications with our community using email, social media, and direct mail.
• Establish and maintain strong community relations with families, community members, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Write private and corporate grant LOIs, proposals, and reports.
• Work with the Head of School and Board of Directors to create a slate of events to engage donors and prospects and raise funds.
• Participating in monthly Board External Relations Committee meetings
• Participating in some monthly general Board Meetings
• Manage the Schools donor management system (Bloomerang), accurately enter donor data regularly, and send timely acknowledgments.
• Measure and report out monthly on progress towards achieving development goals and objectives.
• Lead and plan fundraising events and support with other school-based events.
• Supervise and manage school tours for (1) prospective and existing donors to the school, (2) prospective families interested in enrolling in the school, and (3) external partners in the areas of philanthropy, local or other levels of government, etc.
• Contribute to the school community by supporting other initiatives as needed

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Passionate about education and have at least 2-3 years of fundraising experience
• Experience with Bloomerang or another CRM
• Have the ability to build strong relationships quickly
• Experience writing both creative and technical proposals and reports
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Some proficiency with the Hebrew language is preferred, but a willingness to learn is a great place to start
