Job Summary:

Seidel Schroeder seeks a dedicated Senior Tax Manager. This position will work directly with clients, firm partners, and team members. Supervise various complex duties and assignments given. Review various types of returns for a variety of clients from different fields of work. Represent the firm in professional and service organizations. Assist the Partners with the development of more efficient processes and procedures. You will provide strong leadership to the team and be relied on to complete major firm objectives. 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assume full responsibility for complex assignments falling within their expertise.
  • Review all work papers and the completed returns to ascertain that both meet firm and industry standards.
  • Supervise the assignment of duties to and the training of personnel assigned to the engagement.
  • Manage a significant client base.
  • Recognize the skills and expertise of other staff members and utilize those skills to enhance client service.
  • Supervise multiple engagements at one time.
  • Responsible for personnel scheduling, compliance with due dates, and monitoring time budgets in connection with engagements.
  • Assist partners with practice development and firm management.
  • Communicate firm policies and technical information to tax personnel through individual or group meetings.
  • Coach and mentor staff and play a major role in the development and training of other staff.
  • Possess the highest level of professional qualifications by pursuing technical expertise as well as personal development.
  • Must provide strong leadership on major firm endeavors.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Must be able to prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to research technical tax issues.
  • Must be a team leader, train, and supervise staff.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Conduct all business activities in agreement with Seidel Schroeder core values. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. 
  • Active CPA with a minimum of 5 years of experience of tax compliance work
  • Experience working in a professional office is preferred but not required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America
  • Ability to work overtime during certain seasonal periods.

Travel:

This role may entail local travel between Seidel Schroder locations.
