SEHLKE POSITION TITLE: Costing Analyst (SAP)

LOCATION Pentagon, VA (Currently remote work – when return to work 75% - 100% on site).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This analyst position supports the Office of Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army-Cost & Economics, Unit Mission Costing (DASA-CE (UMC)). The Analyst is a part of a large-scale effort that assist DASA-CE (UMC) to generates and field a wide variety of requests for logistical costing data to support analysis tasks throughout the defense community. Department of Defense analysts have found historical operational and support (O&S) data to be useful in projecting O&S costs for future systems, developing O&S cost analyses, and preparing O&S estimates. We are currently seeking an Analyst to assist in the determination of repair costs, reimbursement rates and assist with identifying repair cost alternatives. 

The position provides subject matter expertise on LMP & GFEBS, along with the experience from working Depo Level Maintenance, understanding depot level SAP requirements. Experience within the G4 is a plus

 Duties and expectations include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Utilize the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) to determine cost factors from “Cradle to Grave” for Army ACAT I and II weapon systems
  • Analyze the Army’s financial management and cost management policies and procedures to ensure that they are consistent with and supportive of the policies and procedures established by higher headquarters.
  • Extract data from LMP for review, analysis, and audit
  • Experience with US Army Logistics audits
  • Make recommendations to organizational leadership on audit compliance and business process improvement based on audit findings
  • Use Microsoft Excel expertise to design, create, and maintain complex spreadsheets, tables, and databases for use and analysis of logistics data
  • Build and create Excel products that help capture data in specific formats and designs from Army systems
  • Analyze the Army’s financial management and cost management policies and procedures to ensure that they are consistent with and supportive of new or evolving Army missions.
  • Identify gaps where financial management and cost management policies and procedures are needed but do not exist and providing recommended policies and procedures to fill the need.
  • Review existing Army and Federal cost management policies and document newly developed cost management strategies and guidance for the Army.
  • Review and integrate existing Army and Federal cost management policies and develop written instructions on cost management policy targeted to Army installations at all levels to achieve financial management certification.
  • Assist in the evaluation of Cost Benefit Analyses (CBA) submitted through Army channels to HQDA ASA(FM&C) for review.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTSDoD Secret ***Must hold an active DoD Secret, or above, clearance for initial consideration. ***

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree 3 years of experience working with the Army.

Waiverable/Substitutable: Or 7 years of experience with no degree; and 2 or more years of that experience working with the Army in logistics Data analytics within LMP

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate will possess experience with working in at least one of the following

  • Sound understanding of US Army Logistics and Logistics business processes at Depot level

SYSTEM SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) - SME
  • Understanding of ACEIT is a plus
  • Ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets and charts within Excel
