POSITION – Laser Machine Operator

JOB LOCATION – Chippewa Falls, WI

STARTING DATE – Immediately

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp-to-Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – Day Shift (6am-4:30pm, Mon-Thurs, OT may be required)

STARTING PAY – $18.00-23.00/hr DOE

EDUCATION– HS Diploma or equivalent required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – 1 to 3 years related experience in a metal fabrication setting; and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Laser Operator will be responsible for set-up to ensure proper cutting operations, detecting any defective material, and perform quality inspection checks.

Responsibilities

• Performing typical laser-cutting operations.
• Selecting proper cutting programs and fixtures.
• Making proper setups for cutting operations.
• Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, following prescribed safety procedures.
• Conducting quality inspections and checks according to quality documentation/control plans, including documenting results.
• Identifying different types of materials, including Aluminum, 5000 series Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Paint Grip, Galvanneal, and Galvanized.
• Learning and demonstrating continuous improvement for Safety and Quality standards and procedures.
• Meeting the standards of the site attendance policy.
• Representing core values: Drive, Integrity, Growth, Respect, and Innovation.
• Assisting in other work areas as assigned.

Qualifications

• The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• The ability to read and interpret prints and work orders.
• Capability to handle fast-paced work environments.
• Demonstrated dependability with good attendance records.
