Security Benefit is searching for a Trade Operations Intern to join our team. This position will work in our home office in Topeka, Kansas or the Des Moines, Iowa satellite office. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating trade settlement processes and managing corporate action events. Your primary focus will be on ensuring timely and accurate execution of trades, reconciliation of trade details, and processing corporate actions in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.Facilitate trade settlement processes by coordinating with brokers, custodians, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth and timely execution of trades.Verify trade details, including trade confirmations, allocations, and documentation, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines.Reconcile trade data between internal systems and external counterparties to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly.Monitor and process corporate actions, such as dividends, exchanges, payment in kind, restructures, and acquisitions, by gathering necessary information, assessing impact, and executing appropriate actions as per established guidelines.Collaborate with internal teams, including investment managers, portfolio administrators, and compliance officers, to ensure accurate and timely processing of trade settlements and corporate actions.EligibilityStudents eligible for the internship will be current, fulltime students available to work approximately 19 hours a week, beginning immediately. Students will be expected to work during and in between semesters and up to full-time during the summer. This is not a summer only internship. Who Are You?Full-time college student pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, data analytics or a related field.Familiarity with investment instruments, including equities, fixed income, real estate, and alternative investments.Experience in using trade settlement and corporate action processing systems and software, such as Bloomberg, Charles River, MarkitEDM, Clearwater, Aladdin, WSO, Pam or similar platforms is a plus.Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in trade and corporate action data.Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.Ability to adapt to changing requirements, work independently or as part of a team, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Consider joining our progressive team in our nationally recognized company.
