Securian Financial Group is Hiring a Remote Relationship Management Director

  • At Securian Financial the internal title for this position is Relationship Management Consulting Dir.
Overview:
The Relationship Management Director leads a team of professionals who provide strategic account management to the largest Fortune 100 and 500 clients of Securian’s Employee Benefits division and personally manages a small number of jumbo client plans. The team is responsible for the satisfaction, retention and growth of the clients served. The Relationship Management Director will also help create and execute business strategies to drive continued profitable growth of the business.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Coach and lead a team of client relationship account executives on all aspects of successful account management, including utilizing resources to create appropriate support structures for client success.
  • Develop strategies to increase in-force client premium through cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
  • Personally manage 3-5 of Employee Benefit Solution's most complex client relationships, creating long-term partnerships, ensuring a high level of retention and client satisfaction, and creating and executing strategies to increase premium within assigned client accounts.
  • Solves unique problems by involving peer resources, using leadership and organizational skills to resolve situations and create enhancements to meet client satisfaction in a high quality, service focused and cost-effective manner.
  • Work closely with Sales team to increase sales opportunities with potential clients, including attendance at finalist and distribution partner meetings.
  • Contribute to the development of organization functional strategy.
    Qualifications:
  • Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in client relationship management.
  • Experience leading others to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations to varying audiences.
  • Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • Able to lead functional teams and projects.
  • Ability to obtain life/health license within 6 months.
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience leading a team of Account Executives.
  • Group Insurance experience and/or expertise.

If you’re in a commutable distance (90 minutes) you’ll join us 2-3 days each week in our offices to collaborate and build relationships. Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules. When working in our offices at least two days per week isn’t feasible (vacations, illness, travel, etc.), an eight day per month standard is an option.
    Physical Job Requirements:
  • A bility to utilize the keyboard, computer and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to utilize the phone and/or virtual meeting platform for 1-4 hours per day.
  • Ability to perform simple grasping including paper manipulation, sorting, folding, etc. periodically throughout the workday.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of traveling, approximately 3 times per month; this includes the ability to operate a motor vehicle as well as an ability to utilize air travel.
