Seattles Union Gospel Mission is currently looking for an Field Case Manager I to join our Outreach team in Seattle, WA.

Seattle's Union Gospel Mission is a private faith-based organization that helps the community to reach out with compassion to those who have lost hope. And as a community, we empower one another to build, lead and give back.

The Field Case Manager I is responsible for providing active case management through comprehensive screening, intake, assessment and referral for homeless served through outreach in Car Camping, Search & Rescue and Sex Trafficking in South King County.

Our Outreach team is looking for its newest member and we think that could be you!

Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing active case management through comprehensive screening, intake, assessment and referral for homeless served through outreach in Car Camping, Search & Rescue and Sex Trafficking in South King County

Essential Job Duties

  • Work closely with church and community partners to bring women from prostitution/sex trafficking into stabilization services at the Mission or other organizations.
  • Research & develop outreach strategies to homeless that live in their cars (car campers).
  • Process intake assessments and screening of individuals ministered to during outreach.
  • Manage caseload of individuals through car camping efforts.
  • Provide crisis intervention information and referral help.
  • Work in close partnership with church connections and local service providers, developing appropriate support for car campers, sex trafficking victims and homeless in South King County.
  • Complete End of Month Reports with accurate statistics.
  • Connect with each S&R and Morning Watch worker once a week to see how they are doing
  • Communicate necessary information with Emergency Outreach Supervisor
  • Attend and participate in all Mission, Division and Department meetings and training, as required.
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • The successful candidate will have an active church/prayer life and demonstrate a strong desire to serve the Mission by ministering to those whom it serves.
  • Must agree with Seattles Union Gospel Mission Statement of Faith, Mission and Vision Statements and have a personal ethos and work ethic that reflects the Missions Core Values.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity is required.
  • Seattles Union Gospel Mission accepts and encourages the involvement of volunteers at all levels in the organization. All Mission employees are expected to assist in the creation of meaningful and productive roles in which volunteers might serve in the organization, and to interact positively and cooperatively with our volunteers.
  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug and criminal background screenings.
  • Possess a valid Washington State Drivers License and be able to meet the standards of the Mission driver criteria required, including but not limited to:
    • Clean driving record
    • No current suspensions or revocations
    • At least 21 years of age
  • Agreement with the purposes of Mission programs and the grace-based team approach to ministry.
  • Concerned, caring heart for the needy and a willingness to confront behavior consistently and respectfully.
  • Must be able have rapport with diverse backgrounds (ethnic, religious views, and socioeconomic).
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making required.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple responsibilities at one time.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with regards to sensitive information.
  • Ability to work in cooperation with the other Mission staff.
  • Strong love for the Lord and for people

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; bend, stoop or reach.
  • Regularly lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Talk on telephone and use computer extensively.

Education

AAS/BA/BS in Social Service or other behavioral science preferred.

Experience

Two years of experience preferred. .
