Job Description

General Summary : As a Delivery / Transportation Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of Seattle Pacific University by efficiently moving equipment and supplies around campus, making deliveries, setting up for events, and maintaining campus storage facilities.

This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive customer service attitude.

Job duties can include

  • Move, load, unload, and transport equipment and supplies around campus in a utility truck.
  • Make deliveries and set up tables and chairs for events according to room diagrams and work orders.
  • Work independently while following written and verbal directions, displaying a positive customer service attitude.
  • Support various campus events throughout the year, including Graduation, Ivy Cutting, Baccalaureate, and more.
  • Deliver housekeeping supplies and monitor inventory levels.
  • Maintain cleanliness around dumpsters, perform litter pickup, and handle small dead animals as needed.
  • Transport scrap metal and other reusable goods to recycling stations.
  • Maintain campus storage facilities, ensuring they are tidy, organized, and accessible.
  • Be available for emergency and planned overtime work as required by the University.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Physical ability to access all areas of campus easily. Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 90 pounds.
  • Ability to operate service vehicles. Familiarity with operating equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks, and powered lifts a plus, but will train as necessary.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, read room diagrams, and work independently.
  • Commitment to quality of work, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • Positive customer service attitude and ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse team.
  • Maturing and contagious Christian faith, knowledge of and the commitment to actively support the Christian mission of the University and accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community.

Salary : $20.00 - $21.50 per hour, DOE

This is a full time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

SPU makes generous contributions to an employee HSA account and a 7% contribution to a retirement account, for eligible employees, with immediate vesting in the plan.

Tuition discount program (50% - 90%) available for the employee and qualified immediate family members.
