We invite you to join our team in making this mission a reality for our students as a full-time faculty member teaching Middle School History. The opening begins in August in support of the 2024-25 school year. Applicants should be able to teach five sections of Middle School History. This could include a combination of sixth, seventh, and/or eighth grade classes. The sixth grade curriculum focuses on civics, including questions of community, government, and founding American documents. The 7th grade curriculum covers Pacific Northwest history, including indigenous communities, immigration, and how our local area was impacted by World War II. Our 8th grade course builds social studies skills as students work to understand how “global systems” of politics, economics, geography, and culture overlap and inform their historical understanding. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience. Undergraduate degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
