SeatSwap, Inc. is Hiring a Fan Engagement Internship Near New York, NY

Company DescriptionWe are a "first of its kind" platform dreamed up by a couple of rabid live event fanatics to help fans like ourselves get to more of the events they love by swapping their tickets with other fans instead of scouring the "wild, wild, west" of the interwebs to find someone who is willing to take them off of their hands. It's our humble beginnings (having originally started from a coffee table in an NYU dorm room) and our passion for live events and building things for our fellow crazy, irrational, "stand outside for three hours in the driving snow" fans that sets us apart from other companies. People can say what they want about us but one thing they can't say is that we are disingenuous because we truly believe that we are taking up the proverbial mantel for the unwashed masses who understand the most important part about buying event tickets in the first place is "being there." When searching for another person to round out our ever-growing team, we strive to bring on like-minded individuals who are as crazy as we are and more importantly, who exhibit the passion, creativity, and unwavering commitment to the power of ideas; and who believe that one idea can shake up an oligarchic marketplace and make people rethink the status quo. Oh and if that isn't enough, we also go to a ton of concerts, games, and other awesome events. Heck, you might even have a drunken run-in with a certain All-Pro NFL Kick Returner who then offers you free Super Bowl Tickets (inquire within for the full story).Job DescriptionThe web's premier destination for event ticket trading, SeatSwap (seatswaptickets.com) is putting together a select group of fans (an A-team if you will), based in the Tri-State Area (preferably in and around New York City and New Jersey) to help create awareness and promote the SeatSwap brand as we gear up for our Beta launch. The live event season is in full swing and as such we are looking for interns with a knowledge of and passion for them whether it's sports, music, theatre or anything in between. As a company founded by a couple of crazy fans (including an esteemed alum of the Tisch Institute), we are committed to getting our fellow fans to the events they love even when life invariably and inevitably gets in the way. As such, we're looking for people who, at their core, are passionate, dyed in the wool, beat the drum fans who can bring that same attitude to this position and are able to appeal to fans of all creeds, cultures, and allegiances. At the end of the day, we believe there's a reason people buy tickets in the first place: because it's about having an experience and making a memory that will last a lifetime but most importantly: It's About Being There. If you know what it means to sit in the blue seats at MSG, if you know the best tailgating spot at the Meadowlands, if you've sat on hold for two hours to make a point about the Mets bullpen situation on WFAN, if you know every song on the B-side of "Stranger" then we want you. Real fans, especially New York sports fans, have a very low tolerance for BS and in-authenticity, so we need someone who has a voice that really resonates with both the Bleacher Creatures and the Legends-seaters. The bottom line is that we need someone who can explain to fans why what we’re doing/building at SeatSwap matters and to convince them to get involved. Now here is where we separate the "band-wagoners" from the "die-hards": One of the biggest parts of this internship is the ability to be unabashed, unapologetic, and genuine in order to connect to our fellow fans on a personal and emotional level. Around here we subscribe to a "don't tell me what you can do, show me what you've done philosophy" but right now we're challenging you to show us what you can do and the best way to do that is just to lay it all out there. Specifically, we want you to send along a video submission (length and platform of your choosing), telling us who you are, why you fit the mold of the passionate/"die-hard" fan we are looking for, why you want to be a part of SeatSwap, why other fans would be willing to listen to you, (if not how you are going to get them to listen to you), and most importantly what "being there" means to you. Nothing is off limits, we encourage you to be creative, passionate, and ridiculous - to speak from the heart and lay it all out there. We will leave the form of your response to our "Call to Arms" up you so whether it's an email, a YouTube video, or anything in between send it along with a resume to info @ seatswaptickets.com.Best of Luck.
