  • A current/valid CPA or EA License with no disciplinary action is required
  • 3 Years of experience as a Tax Professional
  • 3 Consecutive tax years of experience with one company
  • 2 Years of experience working directly with clients/customers
  • 2 Years of experience completing complex business tax returns
  • Available to work 8-5 pm EST regardless of local time zone

The Role - Tax Advisor

You will assist our firm in navigating tax issues for our clients with a primary focus on tax preparation and planning. This challenging position will draw upon tax research, accounting, and problem-solving skills. Typical projects include reviewing in house prepared individual, business, and trust tax returns for clients with tax planning, and related consulting projects following our well-established procedures.

Core Responsibilities

  • Be the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Lead meetings, presentations, and advise clients on financial matters. This is a client-facing role!
  • Prepare, review, and sign-off on corporate & individual tax returns.
  • Host tax planning kickoff zooms, implementation zooms and quarterly zooms to help provide tax advisory services to our clients throughout the year.
  • Prepare, review, and sign-off on personal & corporate tax returns
  • Assist with various tax audits and respond to tax notices our clients receive.
  • Manage 100-150 (up to 400) clients independently and as part of a small team.
  • Handle 80-90% of your work independently without a high level of instruction.
  • Perform self-reviews as necessary to ensure high quality of work.
  • Work closely with the IRS, effectively representing clients in audits and handling correspondence.
  • Interpret and deliver analysis on financial statements regarding the financial impact of organizations for Business Owners; advice other than just about taxes
  • Conduct tax research and analysis to ensure accurate compliance, optimize tax-saving opportunities, and deliver the information to clients directly.
  • Maintain high ethical standards, always choosing the right approach over questionable practices, and conduct difficult client conversations when necessary.
