Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Dispatcher to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing the logistics of our transportation operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods and services to our customers.
Duties:
- Receive and process incoming orders for transportation services
- Coordinate with drivers and other personnel to schedule deliveries and pickups
- Utilize transportation management systems such as ITS Dispatch to track shipments and monitor progress. (Will Provide Training)
- Dispatch drivers and provide them with necessary information, including routes, delivery instructions, and any special requirements
- Order Permits as needed.
- Monitor driver performance and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Communicate with customers to provide updates on delivery status or address any issues or concerns
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including driver logs, delivery confirmations, and customer interactions
- Collaborate with other departments, such as shipping/receiving and logistics, to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in dispatching or transportation managment. (MUST HAVE PORT EXPERIENCE)
- OVERSIZED EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS AND A MAJORITY OF OUR BUSINESS
- Familiarity with logistics operations and transportation industry practices
- Proficiency in using transportation management systems is desired.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- MUST BE ORGANIZED AND HANDLE COMPLEX MOVES.
- Familiarity with 3PL (Third Party Logistics) operations is desirable
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and solve problems efficiently
