SEACORP is Hiring a Cybersecurity Validator Near Newport, RI

SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Cybersecurity Validator.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP supports the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI and is seeking qualified validators to conduct Risk Management Framework (RMF) Security Assessment execution in support of many programs. Navy Qualified Validators will perform Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities including but not limited to:

  • Developing Security Assessment Report (SAP), Security Assessment Report (SAR) Executive Summary, and supporting teams to assess security controls, identify weaknesses, recommend mitigations, and track remediation activities in Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
  • Contribute to the security team in planning, assessment, risk analysis, and production of RMF artifacts that lead up to obtaining an authority to operate. This includes performing ACAS Scans, STIGs testing and conduct of site visits.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related technical discipline.

Experience:

  • Current Navy Qualified Validator highly desired.
  • Hold Industry Certification (e.g. CompTIA Security , CASP ) to qualify as DOD 8750 IAT II/III / IAM III -or- DOD 8140 Specialty Area(s) is required.
  • eMASS, XACTA and ACAS training and experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Linux is required.
  • Knowledge of Web Server is desired.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST SP 800-53.
  • Knowledge of system and application security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Experienced in recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to conduct Security Assessment using DISA STIGs and SRGs.
  • Ability to utilize Assured Compliance Assessment System (ACAS) and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP).
  • Experience in workflows using Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) and XACTA.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Security Assessment Plan (SAP) and Security Assessment Report (SAR).

Travel: 5%

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
