We have an exciting Genetics Multi-Site Farm Department Team Lead opportunity in Hennessey, OK. The Genetics Multi-Site Farm Department Team Lead will attend and care for the swine, assisting with supervising employees in the finisher department under the direction of the manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition.
  • Maintain high herd health and adhere to all biosecurity set forth by the company and proper feeding and care of animals.
  • Training of employees on day-to-day processes and procedures to develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands-on training methods.
  • Supervising and scheduling groups of employees and acting as manager when the supervisor is not present.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of animals, employees, and supplies on the farm.
  • Assist and ensure that all weekly and daily reports are turned in timely and accurately.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures.
  • Follow the assigned medication and vaccination protocols for the farm.
  • Maintain the alarm system and all emergency systems and answer alarm calls properly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Associate degree from a 2-year college or technical school; or 6 months swine production experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to use critical thinking and judgment skills to reach the best possible solution to a problem.
  • Demonstrate experience or desire to facilitate, encourage, coach, and lead a team to reach set goals.
  • Must be fluent in English, reading and writing.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, not required.

  • 1st shift, based on business needs.

  • Primarily work on the farms daily.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is dependent on which environment you are in
  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
