Description

The Tool Services Supervisor will supervise approximately team members involved in tool setting/grinding operations and tool delivery across multiple shifts. The work is generally of a technical nature, with the ability to make timely decisions in order to protect and support manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

• Willingly work any assigned shifts, including daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as required
• Support all cutting tool initiatives by ensuring operator training/certification/documentation changes, etc. in accordance with GMS requirements
• Responsible for the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment in supporting BPD initiatives
• Implement safety and good housekeeping standards in accordance with GMS BIQ Level 4 requirements
• Train, develop, and evaluate employees
• Comply with the terms of Local and National Labor agreements and support divisional and corporate policies
• Initiate contact with others outside of the work group when it is required to solve problems
• Complete required work assignments within budget, manpower, and timing constraints
• Provide support and technical assistance to all manufacturing departments
• Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers

• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of cutting tools preferred
• Experience in the supervision of multi-trade workforce preferred
• High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
• Possess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output
• Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts
• Experience in gaging systems and grinding equipment preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Knowledge of concepts, practice, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable with prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to access, navigate, and work within a manufacturing facility that may or may not be temperature-controlled
