Job Overview:

We are seeking an Operations Manager for our team that is experienced in retail and/or business management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for interfacing with customers, leading a team, and have an interest or experience in scuba diving and other watersports. This position will function across all aspects of the business, from administrative duties to assisting with front of house sales as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overseeing customer relations in day to day sales as well as long term with individuals, business to business, public sector, etc.
• Working closely with vendors to maintain relationships and and understanding of the retail market and product offerings
• Collaborating with the shop owner to oversee shop operations, staffing, payroll, revenue building, and other business needs
• Leading the scheduling of courses, events, and travel in coordination with staff availability
• Managing advertising budgets and initiatives
• Scheduling, training, and supervising sales floor employees and staff instructors
• Overseeing ordering, purchasing, and inventory management
• Assisting with equipment sales, service, and maintenance

Requirements:

• SCUBA certification or interest in becoming certified
• Ability to multi-task and work in both back office retail operations as well as assist with shop sales and front-facing needs
• 2-4 years of retail experience or similar, or combined experience in the diving industry and education
• Knowledge of the Great Lakes region, scuba diving, scuba equipment, and dive travel

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
