PRIMARY PURPOSE / GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment, Scripps College seeks an Interim Program Coordinator for the Scripps College Academy.
Established in 2002, the Scripps College Academy (SCA) is an award-winning college access program for young women in the greater Los Angeles area and Inland Empire.
Services target high-achieving young women with limited resources who seek to become the first generation in their families to attend college.
The Interim Program Coordinator will manage all areas of program planning and implementation.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Perform other duties as assigned.
Potential programs include but are not limited to faculty-led book clubs, science research opportunities, field trips in the LA area, and personalized assistance with the college application and financial aid process.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS :
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, or any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability to perform the job.
2-3 years’ experience in a similar role is required.

HOURS & CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS :
This is a temporary status, full-time, benefits eligible, exempt position. This assignment is expected to begin on or around May 1, 2024 and is expected to end on or before June 30, 2025.
The regular hours for the position are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Hours will vary throughout the academic year and during the summer programming.
Weekend and after-hour availability is required.
This position is in-person only and not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
Annualized salary : $70,000-$75,000. The hourly rate of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :
Supervises program assistant, STEAM Coordinator, and student employees.

Ability to maintain good concentration level while dealing with interruptions; attention to details with emphasis on accuracy;
capable of giving, receiving, and analyzing information, formulating work plans, and articulating goals and action plans.
Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time. Standing for extended periods of time. Reaching and extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than the whole hand(s), or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard.
Communication skills using the spoken word. Ability to see within normal parameters. Ability to hear within normal parameters.
Ability to bend and stoop, for example, to file. Ability to move about. Ability to lift and carry short distances up to 20 lbs.
