As a Production Engineering Manager at our boat manufacturing company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production processes. Your responsibilities will include leading and supervising a team of skilled engineers and technicians, overseeing the manufacturing of boats from start to finish, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of production engineers and technicians. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure their success and professional growth.
2. Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet production targets. Implement best practices and lean principles to streamline workflows.
3. Quality Assurance: Maintain rigorous quality control standards throughout the production cycle. Implement quality assurance procedures and resolve any production-related issues promptly to deliver high-quality boats.
4. Resource Management: Effectively allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet production schedules and minimize downtime.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments such as design, supply chain, and maintenance to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of production goals with broader company objectives.
6. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and best practices to create a safe working environment for all employees. Stay up to date with industry regulations and standards.
7. Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the production budget, including cost control measures and efficient resource allocation.
8. Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the production team. Encourage creative problem-solving and the adoption of new technologies or methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (master’s preferred).
- Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership role, ideally in the boat or marine industry.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality management systems are a plus.
