Human Resources Generalist-Recruiter Role:

The Human Resources Generalist will assist with the implementation and administration of a variety of human resource initiatives. This position will support several important HR functions such as recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, training and development, compensation and benefits, payroll and employee engagement and satisfaction.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts new hire onboarding and orientation that aligns with a positive company culture.
  • Schedules, reviews, tracks and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training (new hire and ongoing). This may include trainings involving safety and anti-harassment.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Provides support to employees on various HR related topics such as leaves, compensation, etc. and resolves issues timely, confidentially, and respectfully.
  • Assists in the administration of benefit, 401(k) retirement, and workers’ compensation programs.
  • Assists in the weekly generation of payroll.
  • Responsible for benefit invoice reconciliation on a monthly basis.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains and assists in the development of human resource strategies which include, but are not limited to; record retention and management in electronic and paper format, compliance, safety and health, employee relations and retention.
  • Actively promotes human resource programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
  • Gathers and analyzes human resource data/metrics to support departmental objectives and initiatives.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and understands policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and talent management.
  • Supports staff and organizational initiatives by assisting and participating in event planning for various company-sponsored engagement events and recruitment activities.
  • Willingness to travel short distances on occasion by personal vehicle to company sites for employee and supervisor HR assistance, as needed.

Skills and Experience You Offer:

  • At least two (2) years’ proven experience as HR Generalist and/or Recruiter
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
