Purpose
: Part of a global team of transition managers, with the mandate of delivering efficient and timely onboarding for Prime Services clients. This a critical role for the continued growth of the business, consistent with client expectations, Prime Services’ product offering, and Scotiabank’s risk and compliance standards. Acts as the primary relationship manager in Prime Services for clients through all aspects of the onboarding lifecycle. Works closely with the broader Prime Services team globally and business partners across Scotiabank to coordinate all internal approvals and requirements relating to client facilities (business, credit, documentation, KYC, and integration). Proactively identifies opportunities, challenges and risks related to new client transactions and provides solutions to meet the needs of clients and the business in order the expedite new business and drive revenue.


What You’ll Do

Client Experience:

  • Primary relationship manager for Prime Services clients during the onboarding lifecycle.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Scotiabank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Transition Management:

  • Manage the onboarding process for new client opportunities and changes to existing client facilities, from origination to execution, including:
    • Business approvals.
    • Credit due diligence and approvals.
    • Legal agreement negotiation, approvals and execution.
    • KYC and account opening requirements.
    • Operational integration.
  • Identify, escalate and resolve any onboarding issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Act as a control point to ensure a client is properly set up before a client is allowed to trade.

Offboarding Management:

  • Manage the client offboarding process, including cancellation of facilities, termination of agreements and account closure.

Product Expertise:

  • Understand and communicate Prime Services’ offering to clients and internal stakeholders, including Prime Services Sales, GCM Banking and Global Risk Management.
  • Understand and communicate client trading strategies, business structures and operational requirements to internal stakeholders. Assist in evaluating client requirements in relation to the business offering.

Process Development:

  • Track onboarding status and provide regular updates to Prime Services management, in coordination with the broader Prime Services team (Sales, Client Solutions, Hedge Fund Coverage, PS Risk, Portfolio Management).
  • Develop reporting and analysis of onboarding status and statistics.
  • Build relationships with internal business partners and control groups for Prime Services clients, including GCM Onboarding, GCM Banking, GCM Documentation, Global Risk Management, Legal and Middle Office.
  • Assist with developing and enhancing legal templates, term sheets and negotiation guides.

Projects and Initiatives:

  • Assist with projects related to KYC and legal/regulatory initiatives and remediation.
  • Assist with business transformation projects and various organizational structure and processes changes for Prime Services in response to business needs and industry developments.
  • Assist with the development of new products and transactions for clients and internal business structures.

General:

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.


What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in Prime Services or Capital Markets
  • Strong technical, communication and project management skills
  • Detail-oriented, analytical and ability to multi-task
  • University degree; Law Degree preferred.
  • Series 7, Series 63
