The Maintenance Parts Clerk is responsible for inventorying, purchasing, organizing, and restocking all parts and materials for the Maintenance department. The Maintenance Parts Clerk assists with controlling outflow and inflow of supplies, parts, tools, and other related inventory items and maintains accurate inventory levels to ensure the optimal inventory is ready for use by the Maintenance team.

Estimated starting hourly base rate is $26.80 per hour less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, based on company performance factors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Control outflow and inflow of maintenance inventory, as well as related shipment, loading and storage activities.
  • Track inventory using computerized inventory systems and ensure all items are appropriately received and stored.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, make ordering decisions, and ensure the optimal inventory is ready when needed.
  • Work with members of the maintenance and facilities teams and other departments, inventorying and distributing parts and materials as needed.
  • Examine and investigate misidentified or out-of-balance items and determine the causes for the discrepancies.
  • Track inventory and keep management up to date regarding inventory inflow and outflow; compile inventory information and present to management with recommendations for effective decision making, which may include the need for restock or for quick resolution of issues.
  • Regularly interact with vendors to obtain replacement stock.
  • Kit parts for work orders including reviewing work orders and parts manuals, gathering required parts, and assembling parts kits for Preventive Maintenance (PM) projects.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of inventory control experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as Fiix, SAP, maintenance connection, etc.
  • Strong time management, communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written, with internal staff and management.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior mechanical maintenance experience in the food processing industry.
  • Proficiency with computerized inventory control systems.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanics.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to sit climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This position is frequently exposed to a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment, Moderate noise levels, occasional outdoor weather conditions while accessing outside storage containers. Temperature fluctuations as typical in a warehouse environment.
