THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

 
Sciens Building Solutions seeks a Security Systems Sales Representative for our security & fire safety business. The Sales Representative’s focus will be on new opportunities via end-users, general and electrical contractors, managing and growing the business through new construction, renovations, and retro-fits within the assigned territory. 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)

  • Achieves minimum annual quota assigned by manager on a consistent basis after initial ramp up period. Sells security systems and other related systems. Achieves orders/bookings and gross margin goals. 
  • Creates new market share by selling a broad range of products and services to new customers.
  • Demonstrates strong prospecting skills and the ability to build customer relationships through consultative selling and promoting customer confidence in Sciens. Searches for and qualifies opportunities on an ongoing basis; follows up with prospects in a timely manner. 

  • Conducts post-installation follow up by contacting customers, ensuring commitments were met, and affirming customer satisfaction once the customer has purchased a system.

  • Performs needs assessments, develops sales proposals, estimates, specifications, and presentations. Provides accurate forecast of activity and potential sales.

  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of complete line of products/services and customers’ issues and needs through in-house training, networking, and research.

  • Utilizes approved marketing materials to present sales presentations and proposals to prospects, assuring the customer understands our value proposition, positive features, and advantages of our products and services over those of the competition.

  • Independently establishes call plans and customer follow up strategies and tactics; consistently applies time and territory management techniques. 

  • Influences new construction specifications through engineering relationships and educational meetings/presentations.

  • Works with operations, finance, legal, and other inside and outside resources as needed to obtain sales. 

  • Develops and executes tactical sales strategies, including end users, developers, consulting engineers, and contractors. 

  • Prepares sales promotion campaigns for customers to promote product lines to commercial markets. 

WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU

  • Two to five years meeting and succeeding quotas of selling security systems to end-users, general and/or electrical contractors. 
  • Consistent sales performance, ability to organically grow business by providing solutions to new client base. 

  • Consistently met or exceeded quota in security sales for the past two to five years. 

  • In-depth understanding of security systems, installation, and testing. Technical aptitude with understanding of drawings and codes. 

  • Experience selling technical solutions through the end user and contracting tier. 

  • Effective communication skills and ability to present before broad audiences.

  • Strong negotiation skills and competitive spirit. 

  • Able to travel by air and/or ground overnight, as necessary. 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates with a combination of education and experience will also be considered.
