Sciens Building Solutions is Hiring an Associate Fire Alarm Inspection Technician Near Detroit, MI

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL 

Elite Fire Safety, a Division of Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an Associate Fire Alarm Inspection Technician to provide inspection and maintenance capabilities. This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure our customers systems are inspected and maintained in a code-compliant manner. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of executing projects. Customer and employee interface require a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are important elements of the position.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)

  • Responsible for reviewing system layouts, and coordinating with the systems and service departments for a successful project execution. 
  • Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity. 

  • Responsible for inspecting and maintaining fire alarm systems. 

  • Produce detailed inspection and deficiency reports in accordance with NFPA. 

  • Responsible for delivering projects on schedule and within cost budgets. 

  • Responsible for logging and transmitting inspection reports via laptop computers.

  • Oversight for project inventory and responsible for vehicle inventory. 

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.

  • Provide support, guidance, and expertise to the other inspectors. 

  • Customer-focused; skilled in project and people management. 

  • Ability to manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality. 

  • Proficient in issue resolution. 

  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills. 

  • Knowledge of fire industry. 

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards. 

WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU

  • Up to two years of experience in an inspector technician role within the fire detection and protection industry.
  • Knowledge of current fire alarm and clean agent/special hazard fire suppression systems. 
  • Proficient in NFPA 72 code requirements. 
  • Ability to read fire system design drawings.

Salary Range: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on experience
