• Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 annually

Job Description:

• Provides oversight, guidance, and overall direction to the JPSS Data Products Management and Services (DPMS) Algorithm & Cal/Val Team.
• Manages the Algorithm Change Process for JPSS algorithms and coordinates and communicates JPSS algorithm changes, updates, and anomalies to various stakeholders.
• Develops JPSS satellite and data product status materials in support of weekly and monthly status meetings, program reviews, ad hoc meetings, and scientific conferences.
• Maintains schedules for delivery of algorithm updates.
• Works closely with the NESDIS/STAR leadership on all aspects of the algorithm sustainment and calibration/validation activities of the JPSS program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate between technical and non-technical. audiences
• Knowledge of environmental satellite systems, algorithms, and data products with the ability to understand and review technical documents, requirements, and waivers.
• Commands leadership and is a self-starter.

Bonus points if you have:

• Familiarity with JPSS and associated Level-1 and Level-2 data products.
• Familiarity with JIRA. - Experience with cloud development and computing methodologies and processes.
• Computer programming and scripting languages such as python, Perl, C, C , Fortran, Matlab, IDL.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Atmospheric Science is required.
• Master’s degree in Science or Atmospheric Science is preferred.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience.

Pay: Up to $115,000.00 per year
