Scale processes and controls to keep up with revenue growth, operational changes, and company growth. Increase both property and insured funeral net sales achieving weekly, monthly, and annual sales management goals. Guide, train, and provide constructive feedback to motivate Management to drive their Sales Team Counselors to achieve monthly sales goals. Communicate expectations, processes, and service level agreements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and motivate Sales Manager(s) to meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals. Increase sales year over year, achieving or exceed sales goals. Reduce insured funeral and property sales cancellation rates across the team ensuring annual metrics are achieved.
  • Observe Management’s interactions with Sales Counselors; may shadow sales counselors along with Manager. Discuss observations and actively listen to Managers for development needs. Provide guidance, partnering, or re-training as applicable. Coach Sales Managers on motivating and managing sales teams.
  • Regularly request Sales Team Managers present and discuss their Sales Team’s activity and productivity, such as Salesforce List Views utilization, unworked, appointments not held, and lead to sales ratio.
  • Guide Sales Managers on resolving escalated customer issues.
  • Establish and communicate expectations, deliverables, and service level agreements.

People Development

  • Successfully onboard new Management members and schedule applicable training.
  • Cross-train and rotate staff to build bench strength as well as contingency. Develop and maintain succession plan.
  • Develop a strong, trusting, and reliable team. Provide oversight, guidance, and coaching including regular informal and formal feedback, identifying developmental needs, and tracking progress. Understand team members career aspirations and provide assignments to develop skills and/or close gaps. Apply a proactive and collaborative management style in order to increase employee engagement and minimize turnover.
  • Responsible for screening candidates (internal and external) and hiring or promoting a skilled and effective staff. Timely address staff found to be in violation of the company policies, regulatory compliance, associate handbook, or time keeping. Review Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and disciplinary actions. Collaborate with Rose Hills Human Resources department to proactively address recurring issues and develop a plan of action.

Operations

  • Develops and implements annual plans to drive business competitive advantage, efficiencies, technology, and sustainability. Collaborate across departments to understand workflow and impact to other departments; influences stakeholders; negotiates solutions and priorities; obtains resources.
  • Develop business analysis reports and dashboards to measure progress, trends, and issues to support effective business decisions. Write and provide a business analytics executive summary and review with upper management.
  • Aligns and directs the development and integration of data analytics and business intelligence necessary for supporting the strategies, objectives, and goals.
  • Approves and supports implementing innovative solutions improving efficiencies. Understands each business segment to ensure existing policies and procedures are managed correctly and implement appropriate practical solutions. Supports change initiatives, maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures.

MINIMUM Requirements

Education

  • Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field. Equivalent college hours may be acceptable.

Licenses

  • Life and Health (L&H) Insurance License valid for the state of California and in good standing
  • Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Experience

  • At least five (5) years’ direct sales experience with documented record of achieving sales goals
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of various sales closing techniques
  • Proficient with salesforce.com application; proprietary application experience a plus.
  • Experience leading people, communicating expectations, and providing constructive feedback preferred
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of regulations and typical procedures

  • Bilingual proficiency a plus

  • Proficient MS Office Suite skills; proficient in Power Point; advanced Excel

WORK CONDITIONS

Work Environment

  • Work indoors and or outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions
  • Comply with Field dress code policy

Work Postures

  • Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 6 hours per day
  • Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per day
  • Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently

Physical Demands

  • Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 20 pounds

Work Hours

  • Working beyond “standard” hours as the need arises

Compensation:

Exempt: $90,000 - $100,000 a year

Plus Monthly Incentive Compensation Program.
