Schunk Xycarb Technology Inc.(SXT-Texas) is Hiring a Quality Engineer Near Menomonee Falls, WI

The Company

Schunk Carbon Technology is a manufacturer of electrical assemblies and components used in a wide variety of electrical and mechanical applications. Located in Menomonee Falls with 90 employees. Although we operate independently, we are part of the Schunk Group, a worldwide company headquartered in Germany, with over one billion in sales annually and diverse operations in 29 different countries.

We are currently seeking for a quality engineer to monitor and improve the quality of our operational processes and outputs. The quality engineer's responsibilities include designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective and preventative actions. You will also work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures.

A successful quality engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards by working alone and with groups to accomplish goals.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Supplier quality focus, working closely with purchasing to introduce/qualify new suppliers, improve current suppliers and monitor all suppliers
  • Collaborating with Quality Manager to develop and implement process system/product controls and improvements 
  • Developing and implementing quality standards
  • Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met
  • Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues
  • Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements
  • Reviewing codes, specifications, and processes
  • Interact with Customers on Quality related issues
  • Interact with Suppliers on Quality related issues
  • Working in accordance with Project Management teams meeting deadlines for delivery of products 

Quality Engineer Requirements:

  • Degree in quality, industrial, or mechanical engineering preferred but additional experience may be considered in lieu of a technical degree
  • 3 years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Knowledgeable of ISO9001:2015, ISO:14001 
  • Experienced with performing internal audits unassisted
  • Able to work with 3rd party auditors to perform site audits
  • Experienced conducting supplier assessments and supplier audits
  • Some travel may be required
