Quality Control Technician

As the Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for:You will determine fabricated/machined quartz product acceptance using a variety of inspection gauges and specifications as well as identifying areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
  • Perform daily checks of gages. Calibration experience of standard shop tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Dial indicators etc.)
  • Perform incoming, in-process and final dimensional inspection using a variety of gages; micrometers, calipers, test indicators, height gages, based on the drawing the product to be measured.
  • Perform dimensional inspection using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).
  • Perform visual inspection against internal/customer cosmetic specifications.
  • Report and segregate non-conforming product per internal instructions
  • Document inspection results per internal and customer requirements.
  • Verify that manufacturing documentation such as inspection sheet, Process Plan, etc. are filled out properly by the previous operation and act accordingly.
  • Participate in Corrective Action Requests projects, coming from internal or external issues, collaborating in the identification of Root Cause and Corrective Actions.
  • Layout work and adapt inspection equipment as necessary to stay within production schedule.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment in the Quality Control Lab.
  • Interface with Manufacturing and Engineering regarding product quality issues.
  • Assist Engineering and Manufacturing in special projects, as appropriate.
  • Advice and training to process personnel on best inspection methods. Provide technical support, data and information to the manufacturing processes, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What will you bring:The right candidate for this position will have:
  • 2-year degree, with two or more years working as quality technician/inspector.
  • 1-year experience in automotive, aerospace, medical and/or semiconductor industry.
  • 1-year of formal education or a mix of training and experience in using measurement tools preferred (Micrometers, Calipers, Dial indicators etc.)
  • Formal education or a mix of training and experience in operating CMM and other measurement devices preferred (e.g. Faro arm).
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, understanding and ability to apply Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing, technical language, and national/international regulations, including ISO 9001 (IATF 16949 is a plus).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment requiring high speed and accuracy to complete tasks.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Experience with Quality tools is a plus: MSA and SPC.
  • Problem Solving, ability to solve issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Priorities definition based on tasks and responsibilities assigned on a daily basis.
  • Communication with all levels in the organization.
