School the World is Hiring a Nonprofit Communications Manager Near Boston, MA

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Communications Manager to lead our team in developing and executing a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in developing and implementing communications and marketing campaigns, managing budgets, and building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set and guide the strategy for all communications, fundraising, website, and public relations messaging and collateral to consistently articulate School the World's mission.
  • Work closely with a senior peer group within the organization to coordinate strategic messaging and branding for the organization's international and domestic programs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate annual communications plan across School the World's discreet audiences and outlets.
  • Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments and produces measurable action. Decide who, where, and when to disseminate.
  • Data-driven focus to grow the audience through media, social media, web, etc.
  • Put communications and public relations vehicles in place to create momentum and brand awareness as well as to test the effectiveness of communications activities (i.e. workflows for cultivation, etc.).
  • Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, decks, brochures, and annual reports.
  • Coordinate webpage and social media creation and maintenance--ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, events, program outputs) is posted regularly.
  • Execution of social media growth strategy, disseminating varying messaging and content to yield results in all outlets.
  • Create and manage donor-specific fundraising content and campaign strategy for bi-monthly marketing emails, cause days, peer-to-peer, programmatic appeals, year-end, and more.
  • Track and measure the level of engagement over time. Deliver quarterly data-driven reporting to senior leadership with actionable recommendations, and occasional presentations to the Board of Directors.
  • Direct internal team and/or third-party constituents in content generation (photos, stories, etc.) and yearly video production.
  • Oversee all media contacts, consultants, and volunteers and ensure all brand standards are enforced both internally and externally.
  • Own a robust internal communications deployment to ensure connectivity among all staff members in all countries.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in strategic communications, social media, creative strategy, and/or digital content creation.
  • Demonstrated management skills and competencies.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into a simple and understandable form. Strong ability to develop and tailor written material for different platforms.
  • Knowledge or past experience working with Hubspot CRM and added advantage.
  • Design skills to direct and design professional and compelling stewardship materials.
  • Detail-oriented with a desire to work in a fast-paced, data-driven, entrepreneurial culture where agility is valued.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently while being an integral and collaborative member of a larger team.
  • A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently.
  • Willingness to travel on 2-4 week-long trips per year for global citizenship and content creation.
