Schnitzler Cardiovascular Consultants, PLLC is Hiring a Medical Scribe Near San Antonio, TX

MEDICAL SCRIBE SCRIBE AND CLINICAL SUPPORT ASISTANT FOR BUSY CARDIOLOGY PRACTICE.

A Medical Scribe and Clinical Support Assistant is responsible for recording a Physician’s interactions with patients and assisting with clerical duties related to medical documentation.

Duties include recording a Doctor’s interactions with patients, filling out paperwork, summaries and referral letters after a visit and entering data into medical records.

Below is a non-all-inclusive list of the Duties of the Medical Scribe and Clinical Support Assistant:

1. Accompany Physician into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present.

2.List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician

3.Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.

4.Document any procedures performed by the physician in the EMR system.

5. Cooperates with other Clinical Department employees to achieve specific team goals.

6. Cooperates with other Billing Department employees to achieve specific team goals.

7.All Medical Scribe and Clinical department employees are expected to keep abreast on current medical requirements relevant to their position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and all other governmental requirements.

Qualifications:

Education: College Degree, Some College that includes English Composition I and II, and Technical Writing

Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

Medical Terminology Required (1 year minimum).

Cardiology Terminology (preferred)

Ability to recognize the physical exam process (if not experienced, this portion will be included in training)

Ability to record exam details

Legible handwriting and ability to accurately record information.

Organizational skills with a focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.

Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.

Other Requirements:

Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.

Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.

Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing.

Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.

Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers.
