Schneider Electric is Hiring an Engineering Sales - Manager Near Raleigh, NC

1 Mission / Activities

1.1 Profile

  1. Manager able to Plan, direct and coordinate ADE activities
  2. Good understanding of Industrial Automation with wide knowledge of the targeted applications.
  3. Strong and Open competency to communicate with Customers, ADEs, PEs (Product Experts), SAEs (System & Architecture Experts), Local Sales and Marketing teams, Machine Solutions ADE Program and the Industry Business Marketing and Development teams.

1.2 Mission

  1. Manage relationship with internal partners.
  2. Manage ADE team to support the sales force and provide application design for customer.
  3. Team empowerment and development for a country or several areas within a country.

1.3 Main Activities

  1. Manage the output of the ADEs. Responsible for on time, on budget, delivery of engineering work.
  2. Ensure that the ADE team is able to support to the OEM Sales organization;
    1. Visit customers together with the sales force or following their requests
    2. “Create the Concept” Using the requirements and constraints of the required solution/application under scrutiny, recommend and develop a competitive solutions and recommend system implementation which optimally meets the customer needs
  • Introduce and promote the complete Industry Business offer in terms of strengths and weaknesses and possibilities and providing the most appropriate solution
  1. Build demos to help the customer visualize the main solution concepts (proof of concept (POC))
  2. Be the main technical customer interface for solution contracts and work closely with Regional or Global Flex-Centers
  3. Provide expert support: lead the solution definition with the customer and create value by advising the customer on advanced issues (Principles, feasibility, limits & constraints, performance, …)
  • Provide recommendations & support in terms of migration from or interconnectivity with the Industry Business Legacy offer.
  • Answer deep technical questions on integration/compatibility of components inside a Hoisting machine architecture
  1. Develop required technical and commercial argumentation documents.
  2. Help to close the deal by providing differentiating elements to sales for the commercial argumentation
  3. Work closely with PEs and SAEs locally and within the community in order to provide the customer with the best solution.
  1. Actively contribute to a global network of ADE Managers as part of the ADE Program:
  2. Work with Industry Business Solutions Marketing, product Business Units to enhance Industry Business product, system & solution offer.

2 Working relationship

Located within Country organization in order to be close to the Customers, Sales organisation, and must remain in close contact with the Country Solutions Marketing organization, PEs, and SAEs.

Competence Profile

3.1 Knowledge & Capabilities

  1. Wide knowledge & experience of targeted applications, industry, standards & legislation.
  2. Customer focus, listening and communication skills
  3. Analytical skills
  4. Commercial and technical knowledge about the Industry Businesses system offer.
  5. Link the specific customer's needs to UVP's of the system platform
  6. Identify limitations/constraints
  7. Good understanding of Industry Business offer knowledge, and the broader Schneider Electric portfolio and able to detect & escalate leads and opportunities to sales
  8. Scope: Complete automation and system offer
  9. Good understanding of the Application offer
  10. Tested Validated and Documented Architectures (TVDAs)
  • Network understanding (Principles, connectivity, limitations, performance)
  1. Industry Business Hardware & Software platforms (Flexible Machine Control)
  2. Industry Business installed base offer: migration from and interconnection with the Industry Business legacy offer.

3.2 Background / Experience

  1. Candidate must have an expertise within one or more of the targeted segments; with working application experience in developing applications on a wide scope of machines.
  2. Minimum to enter in the position:
  3. Worked as a Technical engineer or application designer within a targeted segment
  4. Application competency (see competency profile part 5a)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in designing and/or problem solving in industrial automation
  1. Existing offer expertise (see competency profile part 5a, v)
  2. Knowledge of the electrical distribution, automation offer and related competitors & customers.
  3. Preferable experience with Schneider Electric technology
  4. Preferable experience within a customer or channel partner from a target OEM application
  5. Preferable experience in Management
