We’re searching for a motivated and passionate Accounting Intern to join our Accounting Team, which is responsible for keeping accurate books & records for Schell Brothers and its subsidiary entities. Under the direct supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Intern will support the Accounting Team in recording financial transactions in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), executing month-end close procedures, preparing & issuing financial statements for Schell Brothers and its subsidiary entities on a timely basis, and performing bank reconciliations & other balance sheet account reconciliations to certify the financial statements on a monthly basis. The Accounting Intern must be responsive to requests from Schell management, teammates, customers, vendors, and other internal/external parties. More specifically, the Accounting Intern will assist in processing & coding vendor invoices across multiple companies and assist with the reconciliations of the corporate credit cards. The Accounting Intern will also help manage receivables for some of our subsidiaries and perform bank reconciliations. The Accounting Intern must provide excellent customer service and demonstrate an ability to learn the Accounting function. The Accounting Intern will also provide other duties as required. This is a summer internship that will last 8 to 12 weeks depending on the candidate’s availability (i.e. starting in June and ending in August).

We look for candidates who are organized, respectful, goal oriented, dependable, and who aspire to be AWESOME & HAPPY. We want you to be committed to the Schell Brothers’ mission and have an affinity for numbers. A bachelor’s degree in accounting is in progress (or completed). Beginner knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Being savvy with technology is preferred.
