Scale AI is Hiring a Program Manager - Sensitive Content Near San Francisco, CA

Scale is at the forefront of Generative AI and the development of AI applications. Accelerating the adoption of AI necessitates that models are trusted and safe, and ensuring that the workforce building those models is supported. We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced risk/trust and safety program manager to build out two critical functions:

  • sensitive content management and wellness programs
  • risk mitigation and compliance across our operations
The ideal candidate is comfortable charting a course in new or ambiguous spaces and excels at managing stakeholders toward a common goal. Above all, they are a leader that owns and drives impactful progress.

You will:

  • Set and execute team priorities/roadmap for risk mitigation, contract compliance, and wellness support
  • Be the escalation point for trust and safety concerns, including customer escalation and compliance issues.
  • Coordinate with legal, operations and product teams, as well as external vendors, to develop and implement risk management strategies for Scale’s marketplace, internal teams, and customer engagements.
Note: This role will likely be exposed to harmful content (imagery, text, video) as a part of resolving escalation requests

Qualifications

  • 3 years as a team/people manager
  • Experience in risk management, compliance, or content moderation/trust and safety policy.
  • Experience working with, influencing, and negotiating with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience using data and technology to identify and solve complex business challenges or experience diagnosing operational pain points and leading efforts to reduce these issues
  • Experience with common control frameworks (e.g., risk assessments, regulatory review, compliance requirements analysis, etc.). Experience solving problems across multiple functions and stakeholders
  • Experience in the operationalization and/or development of scalable solutions and structure within a complex environment
  • Ability to project manage and support; excellent attention to detail and analytical capacity
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills; ability to challenge and apply these skills in a wide variety of situations, including executive briefings
  • You have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Nice to haves:

  • 5 years of professional experience in analytical roles focussing on risk detection, complex investigations, and incident response
  • Experience developing and delivering information to senior leadership audiences

The base salary range for this full-time position in our hub locations of San Francisco, New York, or Seattle, is $152,800-$176,000. Compensation packages at Scale include base salary, equity, and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position, determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, interview performance, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.Scale employees are also granted Stock Options that are awarded upon board of director approval. You’ll also receive benefits including, but not limited to: Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, retirement benefits, a learning and development stipend, and generous PTO. Additionally, this role may be eligible for additional benefits such as a commuter stipend.
