SBLI is Hiring a Junior Data Warehouse ETL Developer Near Woburn, MA

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Junior Data Warehouse ETL Developer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes, who is eager to develop their skills. This position offers a hybrid work model up to two days remote weekly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Writing SQL Queries: Develop and execute SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading. This includes creating and maintaining views, materialized views, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Database Programming with PL/SQL: Use PL/SQL for programming tasks specific to Oracle databases. Responsibilities may include writing scripts to automate database tasks and performing data manipulations.
  • Understanding SDLC: Have a foundational understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of data warehousing applications.
  • Data Warehousing Concepts: Gain knowledge in data warehouse design and architecture. This involves understanding concepts like star schema, snowflake schema, fact and dimension tables, and data modeling.
  • ETL Process Development: Work with ETL tools like Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or similar tools to extract data from various sources, transform it according to business rules, and load it into a data warehouse.
  • Unix Scripting: Write and maintain Unix shell scripts for data handling and process automation.
  • Database Management Skills: Develop skills in managing and optimizing Oracle and SQL Server databases.
  • Creating Mappings and Packages in ETL Tools: Utilize ETL tools to create mappings, packages, and load plans for efficient data integration and transformation.
  • Understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) Tools: Familiarity with BI tools such as Oracle Analytics Cloud and Tableau.
  • Data Visualization Skills: Ability to effectively visualize data to convey meaningful insights.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues in SQL queries and ETL processes. This involves debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders to understand requirements, report progress, and discuss technical challenges.
  • Collaboration: Work as part of a data team, collaborating with other developers, analysts, and database administrators to ensure cohesive and effective data solutions

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • 2 years developing Database Warehousing, Analytics and ETL Development
  • Experience in software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience in writing SQL queries using PL/SQL
  • Exposure to OLTP, Data warehouse, Data mart development, Fact and Dimensional DB designs.
  • Experience in using ETL tools like Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or any other tools
  • Experience with Unix scripting
  • Experience working with Oracle and MS SQL Server databases
  • Experience in writing and troubleshooting sql queries
