Design Engineer for Innovative Lighting Manufacturer

$65k - $80k (Commensurate with experience)

Saylite, a visionary leader in the world of lighting, is seeking a Design Engineer to create functional protoypes and products from ideas, customer requests, and product development concepts.

Quick Summary of this important role (full job description is attached):

Key objectives:

  • Work collaboratively with engineering team, manufacturing and sales to design commercial and industrial lighting solutions that will turn ideas from concept to prototype to production.
  • Recommend design ideas to improve manufacturing efficiencies and cost effectiveness for current products.
  • Assist the factory departments (assembly and fabrication) with troubleshooting manufacturing-related issues and improvements, as they relate to product designs.
  • Create & maintain supporting documentation

Summary of Qualifications:

  • B.S. Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or equivalent) or comprehensive work experience
  • Must be proficient with SolidWorks.
  • Proven Design Skills
  • Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environment, preferred
  • Lean Tools knowledge (Green Belt Certification, preferred)
  • Bilingual preferred (English & Spanish)
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills
