What is a Production Supervisor?

The Production Supervisor ensures that the custom packaging center processes run reliably, efficiently, on time, within budget, and to standard. This position has primary responsibility for production in our Fairfield, CA, facility.

Providing strong leadership and communication to our production team of supervisors and our production team members to deliver world-class results in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This position will work closely with all warehouse personnel in achieving the objective of zero injuries and 100% compliance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan production activities toward the accomplishment of company goals and objectives. Manage all transactions using Microsoft Dynamics.

• Assist in the development of specific short- and long-range plans and goals.

• Reviews and recommends changes to the Production Manager to best enhance productivity.

• Develop methods of improvement in the current production practices to promote efficiency and lower costs.

• Provide leadership to the production team members to deliver world-class business results in safety, quality, and cost.

• Coach/mentor the production team to develop a pipeline of talent to meet the future needs of the company.

• Supervise and evaluate the performance of the production team.

• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

• Coordinates the activities of the production team to best utilize personnel. Provides training for department personnel.

• Work collaboratively with departments to reach goals and objectives.

• Maintains compliance and company policy, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES*

• Project leadership, implementation, or special projects as assigned

• Participate in cross-functional Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma projects

• Periodically work beyond normal work week hours, i.e weekends and over 8 hours a day

*Other duties may be assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in warehouse operations and light manufacturing.

• 10 years of manufacturing/warehousing experience with a minimum of 5

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• A proactive team player with a bias for action; a clear cultural asset who brings high energy and a constructive approach to fostering a collaborative environment.

• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office – Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus

• Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication, excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

• Ability to influence cross-functional change and create/build relationships at all levels of the organization

• Maintains a high level of integrity and interpersonal communication, presentation, and organizational skills

• Values accuracy and transparency when generating reports for key business decisions

• Third-party logistics is a plus

• Lean warehouse operations and staff, focused on performance metrics and Lean process improvements.

• Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, statistics, light manufacturing, and quality.

• Ability to prepare cost estimates, justifications, and financial analyses.

• Thorough knowledge of related materials and distribution processes.

• Proven track record of maintaining a high level of employee morale through team building and counseling.

• Lean Six Sigma green belt or higher is a plus.

• Customer focused and results-oriented.
