Hourly rate will depend on level of experience.
Responsibilities :
1. Ingredient Preparation : Execute precise cutting, chopping, fabricating proteins (chicken, fish etc.) and marinating of ingredients according to recipes and standards to ensure a seamless flow of kitchen operations.
2. Cooking : Ability to follow recipes and make them according to the chef's instructions.
3. Communication : Clear communication with the prep team to ensure tasks are completed to the chef’s standard.
4. Stock Maintenance : Assist in maintaining appropriate levels of kitchen supplies, including ingredients, spices, and other necessary items.
Notify chef / s of any shortages.
5. Equipment Operation : Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, and food processors. Report any malfunctions promptly.
6. Cleanliness : Maintain a clean and organized prep area, following proper sanitation and hygiene guidelines. Collaborate with the kitchen team to uphold overall kitchen cleanliness.
7. Collaboration : Work closely with the prep and line Cooks and other team members to ensure a smooth transition between prep and service times.
8. Menu Familiarity : Acquire a thorough understanding of the menu and recipes, contributing to the overall success of the kitchen by preparing high-quality ingredients.
9. Adaptability : Be ready to assist in various kitchen tasks as needed, showing flexibility in handling diverse responsibilities.
10. The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
Requirements :
1. Previous experience as a Prep / AM supervisor or similar role, with knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation.
2. Strong knife skills, meat fabrication and understanding of cooking (sauces, stews, braising etc.).
3. Familiarity with Lebanese cuisine and traditional preparation techniques is a plus.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
