PurposeThe Data Insights Team is responsible for delivering enterprise-wide data, business analytics, and data science functions and connecting business needs with supporting technology. These teams ensure that all data across the enterprise are well defined, of high quality, available to all necessary business and technology users, and easily used and understood. Additionally, these teams provide expertise in reporting, business intelligence, data science, data engineering and integration, and data quality improvement.This role’s mission is to unlock our data’s power by finding innovative ways to analyze, organize, integrate, and visualize information. The IT Data Analytics Engineer will identify research needs and priorities based on in-depth understanding of the strategic questions that move the business forward. ResponsibilitiesPartner closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization to analyze data and visualize it in new, accessible, and powerful waysFunction as a technical expert on the different reporting and business intelligence solutionsTake ownership of existing enterprise dashboards and data tools with an eye for improving those resources to improve self-service analyticsWork with large sets of data to build data model prototypes and analytics to support executive and company-wide reportingAct as a liaison between business stakeholders and the data engineering group to set expectations, define requirements, perform data quality assurance testing, and deliver enterprise datasets for self-service reportingCultivate strong relationships with all stakeholders throughout the business and across the Data Insights TeamRun ad hoc analyses to answer specific day to day questions or support larger initiativesIntegrate data across multiple data sources to tell cohesive data storiesFoster continuous process improvement within the Data Insights organization and functionsPartner with security and risk teams to ensure secure, compliant analytics and reporting environments About YouBachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or related field of study1 year of experience delivering projects in a complex enterprise environment2 years of experience manipulating and analyzing complex data with SQL1 year of experience with data visualization tools, preferably Power BI and/or Tableau1 year relevant experience with a proven track record of leveraging analytics to drive business impactExperience with SSRS and Dax is a plusStrong planning and organizational skillsExperience working on large portfolios of inter-related projects to deliver an enterprise data ecosystem, achieving target outcomes and business value within budget and timelineAble to quickly adapt techniques to the target environment and stakeholdersExperience in a retail environment preferredDemonstrated experience building and maintaining strong relationships with business and IT partnersExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization Physical RequirementsAbility to travel up to ~10% of the time, which may include weekends and evenings, as neededMost work is performed in a temperature-controlled environmentIncumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminalIncumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workdayStooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
