Savannah-Chatham County Schools is Hiring a Charter School Liaison Near Savannah, GA

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Charter School Liaison plays a key role in ensuring that charter schools within the district adhere to state and local guidelines while fostering innovation and collaboration. This position serves as a link between SCCPSS and the district’s charter schools, facilitating the exchange of successful practices and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The Charter School Liaison ensures regulatory compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local/district policies, procedures, and reporting requirements. The Charter School Liaison is expected to foster collaborative relationships among charter schools and district leadership to support and successful student outcomes.

SALARY SCHEDULE: A-4

WORK DAYS: 250


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Education Level:
    Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, or a related field
  • Experience, Skill, and Certification:
  • Experience in state and federal reporting, preferably in a school district environment
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations and requirements related to K-12 education
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex data and information
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with charter school personnel
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to write comprehensive reports, conduct presentations, training sessions, and lead meetings
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office suite, online software, and various technology tools

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to charter school administrators and staff on meeting academic standards and objectives.
  • Collaborate with charter school leaders to identify practices that can be replicated for district-wide benefit.
  • Foster a culture of innovation by facilitating the sharing of successful practices between charter schools and the district.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, and events to facilitate knowledge-sharing and collaboration between charter schools and the district.
  • Collect and analyze data on charter school performance, innovative practices, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for district leadership, highlighting successful initiatives and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Coordinate professional development opportunities for charter school staff, focusing on areas of innovation and best practices.
  • Monitor charter schools to ensure compliance with district guidelines, policies, and regulations.
  • Monitors charter school performance on accountability metrics and compliance with state and federal regulation requirements.
  • Reviews and analyzes data, reports, and records related to state accountability.
  • Conducts charter school site visits to ensure compliance with policies and regulations and annual audits of charter school data and report submissions to ensure that all meet regulatory requirements.
  • Serves as the point of contact for charter schools on all district-related matters.
  • Works in collaboration with department/district staff to conduct annual Charter School evaluations (school progress toward meeting established performance goals evaluated using the Charter School Comprehensive Performance Framework Technical Guide and annual Chevron Reports) and review charter renewals and new charter petitions.
  • Facilitates district support for charter school grants and other funding opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the district/organization.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Incumbents will be considered “at will.” Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade as determined by Human Resources and allowable experience. The work calendar will be 250 days. This is a 1.00 FTE position that requires a flexible schedule.
