Savage, a leading supply chain company, is currently searching for a Technical Training Manager who is passionate about transportation and has extensive experience in delivering training. The position requires a highly motivated and skilled Transportation Subject Matter Expert (SME) committed to providing inclusive and comprehensive driver training. As an SME, the successful candidate will be responsible for qualifying Savage Authorized Instructors, delivering classroom training (both virtual and live), administering the Learning Management System (LMS), safeguarding and maintaining training content, and designing course curricula. You will play a vital role in our team and will be expected to bring your expertise to the table, helping our company grow by providing high-quality training to our Team Members. These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with Savage:A culture that appreciates our Team MembersPaid Time Off (“PTO”) and paid holidaysProfit SharingExcellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) Paid Parental and Uniformed Services leaveFull-Time, Hybrid schedule What You’ll Be Doing:Manage a small team of Technical Trainers who deliver classroom training (virtual and live)Ensure the completion and documentation of all orientation, technical, and site-specific training.Train, test, and sign off on company and site-specific trucking-related training.Certify driver training and refresher training as required by training plans.Coach, develop, guide, and mentor Team Members to reflect the Savage safety culture.Follow up on the completion and documentation of driver and site-specific training.Assist in the development and maintenance of training plans.Lead and influence a large team of Savage Authorized Instructors.Qualify Savage Authorized Instructors who deliver training throughout the organization.Perform training observations and audits to verify the proficiency of Authorized Instructors.Collect, analyze, and interpret training data to identify patterns and trends and use this information to make informed decisions.Protect and update training content to ensure high value of learning.Help maintain the quality and consistency of Savage driver training content.Work with and provide input to the Savage Instructional Design team.Help write and create new content and edit and update training materials.Build trusting relationships with Team Leaders to gain momentum for training programs.Make, update, and track training KPIs.Be the go-to mentor with our Learning Management System (LMS).Use the Microsoft Office suite of tools to improve and deliver safety and compliance messages.Assist with quarterly operational self-assessments.What You Need to Be Successful:Commitment to working safely at all times and in all places.Ability to work various schedules and overtime when needed.Ability to travel (approximate travel 25-50% of work weeks).Must hold or obtain a Class A CDL with XT endorsements.Preferred experience in tanker, pneumatic, and hazmat environments.The ability to effectively convey information through clear and concise language (including written and verbal) is crucial for success in this role.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.Proven ability to deliver training in classroom and field settings.Strong data-driven decision-making skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Forms, etc.).Preferred Education/Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent Be willing to earn or maintain the BCSP.org “CIT” credential.5 years of heavy equipment operator or driving a Class 8 commercial motor vehicle (CMV) is required.Have a solid understanding of DOT/FMCSA/PHMSA regulations.Experience with working in Learning Management Systems (LMS).Physical RequirementsCapable of working indoors and outdoors in all elements.The following physical abilities are required for this job position:Being able to climb on and off equipment safely.Operating commercial motor vehicles.Walking long distances.Consistently bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing on elevated surfaces.Working, walking, and standing on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods.Lifting 50 lbs. throughout a shift.Operating essential hand tools.Wearing required PPE.#IND1
