Savage Services is Hiring a Terminal Development Manager - Western Region Near Midvale, UT

Savage is seeking an experienced sales professional to drive business in our Terminal network. This role will be focused on filling railcar capacity and services in the Western United States. This role will be based in Salt Lake City, UT. The role will be responsible for finding, developing, and closing business deals using Savage’s diverse logistics and supply chain operations capabilities. What You’ll Be Doing:
Understand supply chains and how to extract opportunities for further integration, consolidation and customer value creation.
Ability to listen to, and understand customer needs/problems and convert them into a service opportunity
Actively participate in the development and execution of the Group’s overall strategy by providing market and customer insights
Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
Ability to network and brings an established network of contacts to aid in business growth
Conduct market research and understand the competitive landscape
Perform business analysis and advance deal structures
Identify potential business growth and acquisition opportunities
Work with Operations and SSC personnel to estimate operating and administrative costs
Prepare and submit proposals to potential customers
Support the annual business plan and budget preparation process
Work collaboratively with the Group, Commercial, FP&A, operations and other teams to ensure we create opportunities for our Company and customers to deliver exceptional financial and operations results
What You Need to Be Successful:
Have solid business development work experience in one or more of the following industries: oil & gas, mining, oil refining, chemical plants, railroads, power generation, terminals, or logistics and transportation
Have a proven track record of developing and closing business deals
Demonstrate a proficiency and understanding of industrial markets and related supply chains
Have a current network of industry contacts and continually build on that network
Be results driven, self-motivated, creative and strategic and able to manage time effectively
Be able to identify market or customer-specific supply chain needs and create solutions that result in business opportunities for Savage
Be passionate about the work and success of the company, Team Members, and customers
Be able to work on a cross functional team and coordinate development efforts
Demonstrate a sense of ownership and urgency at all times
Be able to give and receive feedback while working to develop solutions for customers (be teachable)
Have excellent time management, planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completion
Have strong communication and presentation skills both in an internal company setting and in a customer setting
Preferred Education/Experience:
Experience working in a terminal development role in or as a supplier to oil & gas producers, oil & gas companies, mining services refineries, terminals, chemical plants, power plants, and other industrial facilities
Candidates with a terminals experience highly preferred
Bachelor degree, or equivalent experience
Physical Requirements:
Based out of Salt Lake City, UT
Work is in a professional office environment
Requires approximately 50% regular travel, with heavier traffic cycles during busier times. (Principal travel in North America, including USA, Canada, and Mexico, with potential occasional travel to other international locations.
