SUMMARY

The position of VP of Retail is responsible for managing the development and delivery of banking products and services while providing a superior level of customer relations. Provides leadership and development of the Retail Market Managers and assists in the supervision of retail banking staff. 

In addition the VP of Retail assures compliance with all SVB policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1.  Develops and maintains a high level of service delivery for retail banking products and services within the banking offices along the standard of Hug Your Customer
2. Manages bank office operations and profitability
3. Manages bank offices to achieve internal performance objectives for each branch
4. Directs SVB personnel in activities to ensure prompt, accurate and dependable customer service
5. Fosters and supports staff to ensure open communication and coordination with other lines of business.
6. Actively involved in instilling and maintaining a positive sales/service environment
7. Maintains business relationships through personal representation in community activities, and business to business contacts
8. Consistently applies sound decision making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures
9. Coaching and developing staff; evaluates staffing model to ensure efficiency and proper staffing levels
10. Establish, evaluate and measure standards for the retail department

The position of VP of Retail performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

The position of VP of Retail is responsible for the supervision of the Retail Market Managers.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s degree or five years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial institution operations, sales or customer service background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
2. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, leadership, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
3. Advanced experience, knowledge and training in retail and operations activities, terminology and products and services.
4. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to provide leadership, supervision and training for employees using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity
5. Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
6. Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
7. Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties.
8. Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
