Nestled in the heart of scenic Pennsylvania, Saucon Valley Country Club (SVCC) is searching for a Hotel/Club Manager with lodging experience to oversee our historic 13-room Weyhill Guest House and soon to be added golf cottages by end of 2024. 

Providing exclusive use to our membership and their guests, the Weyhill Guest House is a jewel of the club. Offering limited breakfast service and contracted lunch and dinner service, the Guest House is perfect for a wedding party or a golf group. The Club boasts unparalleled amenities and a tradition of providing memorable experiences to our esteemed members and guests.

This role offers the unique opportunity to steer a 1.5 million operation toward continued excellence and innovation, ensuring the highest level of satisfaction for its members and guests

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating all operational aspects, including staffing, managing a complex reservation process, food and beverage, guest service, housekeeping, purchasing, property maintenance, accounting/budgeting, asset protection, revenue management, and staff development.

As the Manager, you will oversee all daily operations to ensure a memorable guest experience for our members and their guests while upholding the policies and procedures that protect the total guest experience. Collaborating with staff and other departments to maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Oversee all aspects of guest house operations, including breakfast service, room inspections, concierge services, and event support.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure proper inventory management.
  • Collaborate with the banquet manager to facilitate events and coordinate shuttle services.
  • Recommend capital improvements and develop policies as needed

Total Member Satisfaction

  • Ensure optimal guest experiences by managing budgets, resolving complaints, and assisting with daily operations.
  • Actively engage with members to solicit feedback and address special requests.
  • Facilitate thank-you and survey initiatives to gauge guest satisfaction and drive continuous improvement.

Human Resources

  • Lead recruitment, training, and development initiatives for staff.
  • Set performance standards and ensure compliance with club policies.
  • Resolve conflicts and foster a positive work environment conducive to employee success.

Revenue Management

  • Oversee reservation management and revenue optimization strategies.
  • Maintain accurate guest records and adhere to club policies.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed to meet/exceed budget objectives.

Financial Management

  • Ensure accurate billing and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Develop and implement annual budgets to maximize profitability.
  • Analyze trends to optimize productivity and minimize costs while maintaining service excellence.

Risk Management

  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance with club policies.
  • Report incidents and propose preventive measures to mitigate liability.
  • Conduct regular property evaluations and recommend improvements to safeguard assets.

Asset Management

  • Conduct daily property walks to assess conditions and address issues.
  • Ensure staff is trained in asset utilization and maintenance best practices.
  • Provide recommendations for enhancements to optimize asset performance.

Communication

  • Uphold privacy policies and maintain professionalism in all communications.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team and with other departments.
  • Engage in scheduled meetings to ensure alignment on objectives and strategies.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Hotel or Club Lodging background required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel or club management, with a focus on lodging operations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Proven track record in revenue management and financial oversight.
  • Familiarity with hospitality software and reservation systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
