SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Residential Director is responsible for supervision of assigned management staff and certified residential settings. A key area of oversight includes compliance, quality and satisfaction in the delivery of person -centered habilitation services. Provides QIDP oversight for plans as assigned.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Receives administrative supervision from the Associate VP of Residential Services. Provides direct supervision to assigned Residential Team Leader(s).
Responsibilities and Illustrative Duties:
1. Provides direct supervision, development and training to assigned team leaders.
2. Responsible for ensuring team leaders are trained in regulatory/agency mandated areas, policy and procedures and in areas to improve quality of care for individuals served.
3. Conducts interviews for supervisory vacancies and makes recommendations for hiring.
4. Maintains certification standards for assigned programs.
5. Participate in both external and internal audits. Develop and assure implementation of Corrective Action plans as needed.
6. Conducts monthly physical plant inspection to identify, and assure timely resolution to repairs/maintenance.
7. Ensures there is regular filing, purging and safe storage of records in compliance with agency procedures.
8. Ensures reporting procedures, notifications and protective measures are taken for any minor, reportable and serious reportable incident in a timely manner. Completes follow up, corrections and/or responses to recommendations. Monitor for trends in incidents or performance and develops plans to address and correct
9. During crisis situations, responsible for assisting in all activities related to the situation until resolution is reached and safety of individuals and staff is assured.
10. Approves site Purchase Requests for supplies and equipment
11. Monitors results of personal allowance and corporate compliance audits. Assures resolution in a timely manner.
12. Participate in agency’s quality management and improvement activities to manage, guide, and improve service delivery.
13. Conducts reviews of Staff Action Plans and Life Plans to ensure quality and that plans are in accordance with agency procedures and billing standards.
14. Ensures billing and payroll information is completed within designated time frames
15. Review fire evacuation drills monthly. Ensures necessary corrective actions are implemented and appropriate. Monitors for trends in failed fire evacuations.
16. Supports supervisory staff with monitoring staffing vacancies and patterns to ensure staffing plans meet the needs of individuals served. Make recommendations for changes as needed. Ensure that new employee, and annual evaluations are completed.
17. Assists Management staff with site scheduling to accommodate the needs of assigned programs, as necessary.
18. Attends and actively participates in site staff meetings. Provides support and direction to supervisory staff in regard to agenda as it pertains to agency-wide information.
19. Responsible for coordinating intake procedures with site personnel to assure vacant beds are filled.
20. Provides input to the VP of Residential Services to revise residential services policies and procedures to accomplish program objectives more effectively and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
21. Participates in agency and regional committees as assigned.
22. A member of the agency emergency on-call system.
23. Other duties as assigned.
Extraordinary Work Conditions:
May be required to work flexible hours and to Travel to locations other than work site, such as participant's home, meeting locations. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Master’s degree in a health or human services field OR Bachelor’s degree in health or human services field (Degree Must meet QIDP requirements as outlined in regulation)
AND
· Minimum five (5) years’ experience in healthcare or related field; experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
AND
· Minimum (3) years of successful supervisory experience.
Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license.
