Territory Manager, Home Improvement (Northeast)

Salary: $67,000/yr - $84,000/yr Plus commissions.

Are you a “road warrior” with outside sales experience in home improvement, building materials or a related industry? Do you have experience teaching customers all along the value stream how to be successful with your products whether user, retailer, or distributor? Does cold calling get your blood pumping? Then you might be a perfect fit for our open Territory Manager position (Home Improvement Segment) at Sashco.

Sashco develops and manufactures innovative and high-performance sealants, caulks, and stains for DIY, remodeling, and log home finishing markets. We are a third-generation family-owned, professionally operated company. We are dedicated to delivering products that work and, more importantly, to running the company in a way that honors people.

HI Territory Managers (TM) are accountable for leveraging Sashco’s value proposition including our high-performance positioning, merchandising collateral, marketing, and promotional programs to increase placement and sell-through of our brands through both existing and new customers in the channels we serve. In this case within the Northeast Territory encompassing the following states: ME, VT, NH, CT, RI, MA, NY, PA, DE, NJ, VA, MD, WV. The ideal home base for this position is Philadelphia, PA. We will consider applicants who reside in other states within the territory based on experience.

You will enjoy considerable autonomy but are also accountable for your piece of the plan, the execution of which will require about 75% of your work time to be spent on the road – away from home. Job requirements

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must…

  • Possess 2-3 years of outside sales / territory management experience
  • Possess a BS / BA in Business or related field

(Will consider additional years of industry experience in lieu of Bachelors)

  • Possess a clean driving record
  • Have CRM experience
  • Possess technology proficiency: Smart phone and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) at a minimum
  • Ability to communicate effectively demonstrating tact, empathy, and respect.
  • Possess strong attention to detail for CRM maintenance, orders, and reports

Bonus points for anyone with these qualifications.

  • Channel experience and existing relationships (hardware, lumber, building materials)
  • Salesforce experience
  • Passion for home improvement projects. In the lumberyard or improvement store almost every weekend!
  • Formal Sales Training (especially Challenger)

In your first six months, you will…

  • Start by being a sponge. We provide a robust onboard and training program to help you learn about customers, systems, processes, and our products. This will be a mix of in-person, virtual and in the field w/ manager and / or peers.
  • Upon completion of onboard and initial training, continue working from “proficiency” to “mastery” of TM skills.
  • Assume ownership of territory and assigned direct accounts
  • Attend industry events, buying markets aligned with strategic plan
  • Get to know the team. Integrate with the sales & marketing team with whom you will interface the most in addition to getting to know other teams within Sashco.
