About the job

The Principal Sales Training and Development Specialist serves as SAS’s expert in the profession, driving impactful training initiatives that contribute to sales success and overall business growth. In addition, you will serve as a strategic consultant to sales leadership, provide coaching, mentoring and develop content related to complex enterprise sales. As a Principal Sales Training and Development Specialist you will:  

• Assist in driving the implementation life cycle for development of programs.
• Identify, analyze, and develop training for SAS Solutions, targeted skills, technologies, industries, and/or business areas and determines the most appropriate media for the delivery of content.
• Conduct classroom training sessions. These may be modules of a large course or an entire course.
• Lead and Facilitate role-play sessions in various training courses/environments and provides coaching.
• Lead and/or facilitate distance learning courses.
• Utilize complex sales concepts and techniques.
• Participate in project meetings and knowledge –transfer activities with various teams and Subject Matter Experts.
• Expand professional field of expertise through proactive research and cultivation of relationships both inside and outside SAS.
• Create and maintain electronic shared repository of program management information for training and consulting support programs.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 12 years relevant experience
• Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience scoping, designing, and delivering training interventions for various sales audiences.
• Demonstrated proficiency in surveying and analyzing the professional development and training needs of various stakeholders, including sales executives and management.
• Demonstrated experience providing expert guidance and coaching to Sales Leaders.
• Current professional coaching certification accredited by the International Coaching Federation.
