Sarstedt, Inc. is Hiring a Shipper/Receiver Near Reno, NV

Responsible for unloading incoming trucks, stocking and pulling inventory, and packing outgoing orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as apparent or required by management.

Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or packing slips.
 
 Receives finished product and unloads palletized and floor-loaded product from trailers. Inspects incoming product for damage.
 
 Picks product to fulfill orders and prepares product for shipment as required.

Ensures that product is stored, retrieved, and shipped without damage. Verifies part number, lot number, and quantity as required.

Works according to safety regulations and guidelines at all times and reports unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor.

Maintains a clean working environment at all times, which includes but is not limited to, sweeping, mopping, wiping off equipment, and keeping work stations organized.

Operates manual pallet jacks to convey shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

Education and/or Experience 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to six months related experience and/or training.

Language Skills 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos.
 
 Ability to write simple correspondences.
 
 Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to vendors and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills 

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
 
 Ability to perform these operations using units of US measurements.

Reasoning Ability 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
 
 Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Computer Skills 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows-based computers.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

Ability to obtain a forklift license is required.
